Keeley Construction assisted DHL with the buildout of a speculative warehouse distribution center in Joliet, IL. The huge 1,026,00 SF state-of-the-art warehouse was built to further develop a large plot of land owned by the shipping giant and is now owned by Core5 Industrial Partners.
The building was built to be expandable to an additional 1.2 million SF, and included a site ready pad to accommodate a building up to 400,000 SF. The site work included expanded stormwater detention ponds to prepare the site for rapid expansion, particularly for large distribution companies. Thanks to the prime location, the building offers access from both Laraway and Rowell roads. The storefront is visible from Laraway road, and the building is designed for a second front if needed. The site includes 270 trailer stalls (expandable to 405) and 229 vehicle parking stalls (expandable to 397). With 216 dock doors and four drive-in doors, the building is ideal for logistics and shipping.
One of the top logistics companies in the world, DHL has delivered to customers for over 50 years. With 380,000 employees in over 220 countries and territories, DHL is a trusted and well-known name in the delivery business.
