Replacement for Chemical Storage- New Facility

54,000 sf chemical storage facility. Existing 100-year old building collapsed. New building was constructed on original footings to ensure proper zoning requirements.

After completing a complex project for Nalco in 2014 where Keeley Construction built a structure around their existing chemical manufacturing building (which stayed in operation throughout construction) in order to raise the existing roof, we were hired again by Nalco on this project to build a 54,000 SF chemical storage facility. We demolished the existing 100 year old building and rebuilt the new building using the existing footings from the demolished building.

Project Highlights

  • Building Clear Height is 35’ – 0”
  • New ESFR Fire Sprinklers
  • New Chemical Wash-down Station
  • Project is constructed while existing plant is in operation. Adhered to Nalco Chemical’s strict safety policy and standards
  • Keeley worked with both Nalco and Village of Bedford Park to ensure new facility met new zoning and setback requirements
  • Keeley assisted with the Variance Process to get Zoning Approval
  • Due to Constraints of Existing Production Schedule the new Storage Facility was critical to the plant’s chemical storage. Timeline was condensed to meet client’s production and storage needs.
