Royal Die & Stamping approached Keeley Construction for the headquarters build in 2012. Due to an IDOT property acquisition at O’Hare, the plant needed to move and was looking for a larger facility to allow for continued growth and expansion. The project involved converting a 163,000 SF distribution facility into a modern headquarters to house manufacturing, assembly, and distribution as well as the administrative offices, engineering, and quality control.
To plan the all-in-one space, Keeley worked and coordinated with the client, IDOT, the equipment movers, along with the machinists, and the tool and die departments to ensure a seamless move of 280 pieces of specialized manufacturing equipment. The process needed to be smooth without sacrificing product quality, customer service, or production, as the company would need to continue day-to-day operations during construction. Within seven short months, Keeley was able to build an innovative new space to accommodate the unique needs of Royal Die.
Since 1938, Royal Die & Stamping has been an industry leader in manufacturing components for the automotive, electronics, and telecommunications industry. Headquartered in Carol Stream, IL, the family-run Royal Die Co. runs over 75 high-speed presses including precision servo-driven presses. In 2017, Royal Die was sold to the parent company, Industrial Growth Partners, to build off their continued success.
Of the new facility, Sue Freitag, VP of Operations reports, “It’s been magical since we moved into the new plant. We’ve seen the employees grow to a level I never thought they could achieve. I think they feel proud.”
