After Keeley Construction helped Ruprecht Meat Company with their state-of-the-art meat processing facility in Mundelein, IL, the company saw increased efficiency and cost-savings. Phase II of the project was to build a 75,000 SF food production addition. The addition would include a 17,000 SF convertible freezer, a 51,000 SF food productions space and 3,000 SF equipment room.
Another important focus of the buildout was to create an employee welfare area with a locker room, washroom, gowning area, and laundry facility. This spacious 4,000 SF area was built with anemphasis on the needs of the Ruprecht employees. The project also included the conversion of an existing 14,000 SF freezer into a blast freezer, production, and staging area. The project took place without any disruption to the regular workflow in the busy facility, which was fully operational during construction.
