Ruprecht Meat Company approached Keeley to assist with a buildout to consolidate three facilities into one state-of-the-art meat processing facility. The buildout required a complete remodel of an existing 107,000 SF structure to accommodate a 45 SF freezer/cooler, as well as large processing equipment for cooking and packaging. With future growth in mind, Keeley helped construct space that’s expandable, efficient, and modern.
One of the largest cold chain logistics providers in the world, Preferred Freezer needed access to ports, railyards and temperature-controlled trucking in their Chicago cold storage facilities. Keeley built the #2 & #3 Chicago sites for the company. The first build included accommodations for three freezers totaling over 125,000 SF of space. The facility is operated by unmanned cranes and conveyors, requiring an extensive placement and retrieval system and a 1,000 KVA backup generator.
The three-phase 42,000 SF buildout for Vital Proteins new production plant allowed business operations to continue during construction. With new production lines, packaging and sanitation areas, locker room and gym, the facility was designed and constructed to meet the needs of employees, while also meeting USDA and FDA requirements. Special HVAC, filtering, and cleaning systems ensure safe, efficient operations.
